Privacy Policy

Effective September 22, 2026

Who we are

TrustedPause is operated as a sole proprietorship. This policy describes the TrustedPause website, the guardian account, and the Chrome or Edge extension.

Questions and deletion requests: hello@trustedpause.com.

What we collect

From the adult who buys TrustedPause (the guardian):

  • Email address and the password account used to sign in.
  • Mobile number, the time you agreed to texts, and which version of the consent sentence you accepted.
  • The display name you use for the senior, such as Mom.
  • Websites you mark as trusted for passwords.
  • Subscription status from Stripe. We do not store a full card number.

When the extension asks for a decision, we store approval metadata only:

  • The website domain.
  • The kind of field: Social Security number, bank account, card, password, or crypto recovery phrase.
  • Whether you said yes, said no, or time ran out, plus when the request was created and when it expires.
  • Whether the text was sent, failed, or could not be sent.

What we do not collect

We do not collect or store the Social Security number, bank account number, card number, password, or crypto recovery phrase that was typed. Those characters stay on the computer. The text you receive names the website and the kind of field. It does not include what was typed.

How texts are used

Texts are transactional. They are not marketing.

  • A confirmation text after you opt in on the setup form.
  • An approval text when a sensitive field is paused, with a link to say yes or no.

Message frequency varies with how often a sensitive field is used. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out of further texts. Reply HELP for help. You can also email hello@trustedpause.com. Stopping texts does not by itself cancel the yearly subscription.

Texts are sent through Twilio. Twilio may keep message logs under its own policy. We do not sell phone numbers.

Payments

The $99 yearly subscription is processed by Stripe. Stripe receives the payment details needed to charge the card. TrustedPause receives subscription status, such as whether the year is active, and Stripe customer and subscription identifiers. Card numbers stay with Stripe.

Where it is stored

Account, consent, trusted-domain, and approval records are stored in Convex. The extension stores a pair token on the computer so it can ask for a decision. It does not receive the approve link.

How long we keep it

We keep the guardian account, phone, consent record, senior display name, trusted domains, and recent approval metadata while the account exists, so setup and recent checks still work. We do not keep a separate archive of typed secrets, because we never stored them.

Email hello@trustedpause.com to ask us to delete the TrustedPause account data we control. Stripe and Twilio may keep their own billing or message records under their policies. There is no in-app delete button today.

If you live in California

You can email hello@trustedpause.com to ask what personal information we have about you and to ask us to delete it. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. This page is a plain description of our practices. It is not a certification, seal, or registration.
