TrustedPause

Terms of Service

Effective September 22, 2026

The agreement

These terms cover the TrustedPause website, the guardian account, texts, and the Chrome or Edge extension.TrustedPause is operated as a sole proprietorship. By creating an account or paying, you agree to these terms and to the Privacy Policy.

Who can buy

The buyer is an adult child, or another adult, paying to help up to 2 seniors. The account and the settings belong to that adult. The senior does not get a settings screen. One subscription covers up to 2 seniors and up to 3 Approver phones. The account owner counts as one Approver.

The service

TrustedPause installs in Chrome or Edge on their computer. When a Social Security number, bank account, card, crypto recovery phrase, or an untrusted password starts to be entered, the extension freezes the field before the letters land. You get a text with the website and the kind of field. You tap yes or no. You never see what they typed, and TrustedPause does not store it.

If you do not answer within 2 minutes, the request expires and the field stays blocked. A yes unlocks that pause for about 5 minutes. Passwords on a website you marked as trusted can stay quiet. Money, an ID number, a card, and a recovery phrase still ask, even on a trusted site.

Price

$99 a year. That covers up to 2 seniors and up to 3 Approver phones. Payment is processed by Stripe. Taxes may be added where Stripe collects them. The price is shown before you pay.

Texts

You opt in during setup by checking the consent box and saving your mobile number. The same step is shown on the SMS opt-in page, with the box starting unchecked. We then send a short confirmation text. Later texts are approval requests and related account or security messages. They are not marketing. Message frequency varies. Texts are triggered by the senior's activity. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out. Reply HELP for help. Stopping texts does not cancel the subscription.

What we do not promise

TrustedPause is a pause and a text to a person you chose. It is not a guarantee against every scam, every mistake, or every payment. A text can fail, arrive late, or be missed. A field can stay blocked when you meant to allow it, or open after you say yes. You are still responsible for the decision you make.

Acceptable use

Use TrustedPause for the seniors you named, on the computers they use. Do not:

  • Point it at someone who did not agree to your help, or use it to spy, harass, or lock them out.
  • Try to make the service capture, forward, or store typed secrets.
  • Share the pair code, approve link, or account with people who should not decide for that senior.
  • Resell the subscription, or use one subscription for more than 2 seniors or more than 3 Approver phones.
  • Probe, disrupt, or misuse the site, the extension, or the texting path.

Cancellation

When a Stripe Customer Portal is available for your subscription, you can cancel there. Until that portal is offered on your account, email hello@trustedpause.com and we will cancel through Stripe. Cancellation stops renewal. It does not erase texts already sent. Access continues through the period you already paid, unless Stripe ends it sooner because a payment failed.

Limitation of liability

TrustedPause is provided as-is. To the extent the law allows, TrustedPause and its operator are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including money sent to a scammer, a blocked form, a missed text, or a decision you or the senior made. If a claim is allowed, liability is limited to the amount you paid forTrustedPause in the 12 months before the claim. Some states do not allow certain limits. In those states, the limits apply only as far as the law allows.

Governing law

Florida law governs these terms, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. These terms do not take away rights a consumer protection statute gives you that cannot be waived.
